Important FMLA Information

Job Protection

Take the time you need to recover with the peace of mind that FMLA helps protect your job and eligible employment benefits during your approved leave.

May Be Paid

FMLA leave is generally unpaid, but some states offer paid family and medical leave benefits for eligible employees. Coverage and eligibility vary by state and employer plan.

We're Here to Help

Our providers can help determine the appropriate certification and make updates if additional documentation is required.

Short-Term Disability (STD) Certification

Short-Term Disability (STD) benefits provide partial income replacement when a non-work related illness, injury, or medical condition temporarily prevents you from working.

Choose the Right Protection
for Your Leave

When you are unable to work because of a medical condition, there are often two important needs: protecting your job and replacing a portion of your income while you recover.

FMLA helps protect your job while you are away from work, while Short-Term Disability may provide financial support during your leave. Short-Term Disability alone may be appropriate when your leave is already protected through FMLA, an approved ADA accommodation, or another employer leave program.

Medical certification does not guarantee approval of disability benefits. Eligibility and benefit decisions are made by your employer or disability insurance provider.

ADA Work Accommodations

ADA workplace accommodations are reasonable adjustments that help employees with a medical condition or disability perform the essential functions of their job. These accommodations are intended to provide meaningful support while allowing employees to remain productive and successful at work.

Depending on the employee’s medical needs and job responsibilities, accommodations may include:

  • Modified schedules or flexible work hours
  • Remote or hybrid work arrangements
  • Adjustments to job duties or workload
  • Additional breaks during the workday
  • Ergonomic equipment or workspace modifications

Employees may be asked to provide medical documentation supporting the need for accommodation. The employee and employer then participate in an interactive process to identify an appropriate solution that addresses the employee’s limitations while meeting the organization’s operational needs.

Accommodations are considered on a case-by-case basis and must be reasonable, meaning they do not create an undue hardship for the employer.

The goal is to help employees continue working safely, effectively, and with the support they need.

Our commitment is to foster an inclusive workplace where every employee has the opportunity to thrive.
